WHAT WE DO

Karen K Physiotherapy is a Lymphoedema and Oncology Physiotherapy clinic which specializes in the assessment and treatment of Lymphoedema, chronic oedema and musculo-skeletal problems which may be related to the effects of oncology treatment. At Karen K Physiotherapy the focus is on you as an individual. I will take the time to understand you, your concerns and limitations and your lifestyle priorities.

After a thorough assessment I will educate you on your diagnosis, discuss treatment options and tailor an individual plan to improve your mobility, function, quality of life and your ability to self-manage chronic conditions. Where appropriate I will liaise with your other health care providers to provide optimum care to manage your condition. Karen K Physiotherapy is a relaxed, non-clinical environment in the leafy suburb of Ferny Hills.

About Me

Karen Kennelly is a Physiotherapist with 30 years clinical experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including more than 10 years working in the area of Lymphoedema and Oncology. She worked at the Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital in general physiotherapy for 2 years before gaining experience in the United Kingdom and in private physiotherapy clinics in Brisbane. She returned to RBWH and worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist for a further 15 years, where she completed her Lymphoedema training in 1995 and assisted in this area of the Physiotherapy department.

Karen then worked for 10 years in a specialist Lymphoedema Oncology private practice in Brisbane where she gained experience in all aspects of Lymphoedema management and treatment including complex cases, breast cancer rehabilitation and Physiotherapy treatment for oncology patients.

Karen has set up her own Physiotherapy clinic, Karen K Physiotherapy, and is passionate about offering her clients personalised treatment to assist them to improve their function and quality of life. Karen is an Accredited Practitioner (Category 1) of the Australian Lymphology Association and a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
